Day 0 (December 24, 2027): Arrival in Tanzania - Transfer from Airport to Moshi
You will be greeted at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred comfortably to your hotel in Moshi town. Meet our lead trekking expert for a comprehensive pre-climb briefing and gear check before resting for the night ahead of your big adventure.

Day 1 (December 25, 2027): Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Elevation: 5,380 ft to 9,350 ft
Distance: 11 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
Habitat: Rain Forest
A scenic 1-hour drive from Moshi brings you to the Machame Gate. Starting at the lower rainforest slopes, you will trek along a winding forest trail up a ridge surrounded by lush vegetation and exotic wildlife until reaching Machame Camp.

Day 2 (December 26, 2027): Machame Camp to Shira Cave
Elevation: 9,350 ft to 12,500 ft
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours
Habitat: Heath
Though shorter in distance, today's trail is steeper. As you ascend through the moorland zone, trees diminish to give way to alpine shrubs like giant groundsels and lobelias. Enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the plains below, Mount Meru, and the majestic Kibo peak.

Day 3 (December 27, 2027): Shira Cave via Lava Tower down to Barranco Camp
Elevation: 12,500 ft to 15,190 ft down to 13,044 ft
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
Hiking Time: 6-7 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
We trek eastward up a high ridge towards the striking volcanic formation known as the Lava Tower. Afterward, we descend through the remarkable Senecio Valley down to Barranco Camp. Climbing high and sleeping low is an ideal strategy for altitude acclimatization.

Day 4 (December 28, 2027): Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Elevation: 13,044 ft to 13,106 ft
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
The day starts with a descent into the gorge before scaling the non-technical yet steep Great Barranco Wall. Navigating a series of rolling hills and valleys, we arrive at Karanga Valley and climb to Karanga Camp, designed as a short acclimatization day.

Day 5 (December 29, 2027): Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Elevation: 13,106 ft to 15,331 ft
Distance: 4 km / 2 miles
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
Leaving Karanga behind, we merge with the Mweka Trail and ascend over rocky terrain to Barafu Hut. Completing the Southern Circuit reveals stunning views of the summit from multiple directions. Relax, settle into camp, and enjoy an early dinner to rest up for summit night.

Day 6 (December 30, 2027): Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, descent to Mweka Camp
Elevation: 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft, descent to 10,065 ft
Distance: 18 km / 10 miles
Hiking Time: 13-14 hours
Habitat: Arctic
Beginning our final push around midnight under the stars, this is the most physically demanding stage of the trek. Ascending through extreme cold and high altitude, we reach Stella Point in time for a breathtaking sunrise over Mawenzi Peak before continuing onward to Uhuru Peak, the highest summit in Africa. Afterward, we descend directly to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved celebration dinner and sleep.

Day 7 (December 31, 2027): Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Elevation: 10,065 ft to 5,380 ft
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Habitat: Rain Forest
On our final morning, we complete the descent through the humid rainforest to Mweka Gate to receive your official summit certificates. Our transport vehicle will be waiting to transfer you safely back to your hotel in Moshi.
