Overview: 7 Days Lemosho Route Joining Group
The 7-day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic trails on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering panoramic vistas from diverse sides of the mountain. As a premier route, it is an exceptional choice for climbers seeking a combination of breathtaking scenery, lower crowds, and a high summit success rate. This group departure is ideal for moderate climbers as it provides ample time for proper acclimatization. For absolute beginners, we also recommend exploring our 8-day Lemosho route variants for a more gradual ascent.
The Lemosho trek begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro at Londorossi Gate, winding through lush rainforests up to the magnificent Shira Plateau over the first two days. The route continues east toward the Lava Tower before descending into the Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit, ultimately summiting from Barafu Camp.
What to Expect on Your 2027 Group Trek
Your adventure begins with a scenic 4-hour drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, you start trekking across the western slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro toward the iconic Shira Plateau. You will transition through multiple distinct climate zones, ranging from dense rainforest and alpine moorland to arctic ice. The gradual climb profile offers excellent acclimatization opportunities and stands out with one of the highest success rates across all Kilimanjaro routes.
