Arrival Day: December 17, 2027 - Airport Transfer to Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where our representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi town. Enjoy a pre-climb briefing with your lead guide and complete final gear checks before resting for the night.

Day 1: December 18, 2027 - Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Distance: 11 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5 - 7 hours
Elevation: 5,380 ft to 9,350 ft
Habitat: Rain Forest
Drive from Moshi through Machame village to the park gate. Following registration and permit processing, begin trekking through the dense tropical rainforest up to Machame Camp.

Day 2: December 19, 2027 - Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Hiking Time: 5 - 6 hours
Elevation: 9,350 ft to 12,500 ft
Habitat: Heath / Moorland
A shorter distance but steeper climb. Ascend out of the forest zone into the heather and moorland zone, offering gorgeous views of Kibo peak and Mount Meru. Notice unique alpine flora such as Lobelia deckenii.

Day 3: December 20, 2027 - Shira Cave Camp via Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
Hiking Time: 6 - 8 hours
Elevation: 12,500 ft to 15,190 ft (Lava Tower) down to 13,044 ft
Habitat: Alpine Desert
Climb higher toward the striking Lava Tower (4,600m) before descending into the sheltered Barranco Valley. This follows the golden rule of alpine climbing: "walk high, sleep low" to maximize acclimatization.

Day 4: December 21, 2027 - Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Distance: 9 km / 5 miles
Hiking Time: 8 - 10 hours
Elevation: 13,044 ft to 15,331 ft
Habitat: Alpine Desert
Scale the famous Barranco Wall and traverse ridges across stark alpine scree slopes to reach Barafu Camp. Rest early, hydrate, and prepare for your midnight summit push.

Day 5: December 22, 2027 - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
Distance: 5 km ascent / 7 km descent
Hiking Time: 6 - 8 hours ascent, 2 - 4 hours descent
Elevation: 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft (Uhuru Peak) down to 12,434 ft (Millennium Camp)
Habitat: Arctic to Heath
Depart around midnight through volcanic scree to reach Stella Point on the crater rim as the sun rises. Continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the roof of Africa. Descend back past Barafu Camp for a short rest, then down to Millennium Camp.

Day 6: December 23, 2027 - Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Moshi
Distance: 12 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5 - 7 hours
Elevation: 12,434 ft to 5,380 ft
Habitat: Rain Forest
Conclude your trek with a celebratory descent through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official summit certificates. Vehicles will transport you back to your Moshi hotel for well-earned celebrations.
