The 8-day Lemosho Route is widely recognized as the most scenic trail on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering panoramic vistas from various sides of the mountain. As one of the premier choices for climbers, it combines low crowds, stunning wilderness, and an exceptionally high summit success rate. This route is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers, as the extended duration provides optimal acclimatization time.

The trek begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro at Londorossi Gate. From there, your journey leads through lush rainforest up to the magnificent Shira Plateau over the first two days. The trail then proceeds east towards Lava Tower, descending into the Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit before your final summit push from Barafu Camp.

What to Expect on the Trail

Following a scenic 4-hour drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, you will commence your trek across the western slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro towards the Shira Plateau. Day 1 (October 20, 2027): Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa

Depart Moshi for Londorossi Gate for registration formalities before driving to the Lemosho trailhead to begin hiking through pristine rainforest winding up to our first campsite.
