2027 Tour Itinerary Plan
Arrival Day: (September 25, 2027) - Airport Transfer to Moshi
Picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Meet your lead mountain guide for an orientation and gear check before resting for the night.
Day 1: (September 26, 2027) - Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Distance: 11km / 7 miles | Hiking Time: 5–7 hours | Altitude: 5,380 ft to 9,350 ft | Habitat: Rain Forest.
Drive from Moshi to Machame Gate. Following park registration, begin trekking through the dense rainforest up to Machame Camp.
Day 2: (September 27, 2027) - Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp
Distance: 5km / 3 miles | Hiking Time: 5–6 hours | Altitude: 9,350 ft to 12,500 ft | Habitat: Heath.
A short but steeper climb. Ascend past viewpoints overlooking forests and Kibo peak, navigating unique high-altitude plants like giant groundsels and lobelias.
Day 3: (September 28, 2027) - Shira Cave Camp via Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Distance: 10km / 6 miles | Hiking Time: 6–8 hours | Altitude: 12,500 ft to 15,190 ft down to 13,044 ft | Habitat: Alpine Desert.
Traverse high moorland underneath the Lava Tower, practicing the vital altitude acclimatization principle of "walk high, sleep low."
Day 4: (September 29, 2027) - Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Distance: 9km / 5 miles | Hiking Time: 8–10 hours | Altitude: 13,044 ft to 15,331 ft | Habitat: Alpine Desert.
Trek across desolate scree slopes to Barafu Camp. Rest early and hydrate in preparation for the midnight summit push.
Day 5: (September 30, 2027) - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak & Millennium Camp
Distance: 5km ascent / 7km descent | Hiking Time: 6–8 hours & 2–4 hours | Altitude: 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft (Uhuru Peak) down to 12,434 ft.
Midnight departure climbing steep scree to Stella Point on the crater rim just in time for sunrise, continuing on to reach **Uhuru Peak** (5,895m). Descend back past Barafu Camp down to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest.
Day 6: (October 1, 2027) - Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
Distance: 12km / 7 miles | Hiking Time: 5–7 hours | Altitude: 12,434 ft to 5,380 ft | Habitat: Rain Forest.
A gentle descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate to receive your official climbing certificates before transferring back to Moshi for celebrations.
