Overview of the 8 Days Lemosho Route Group Climb
The 8-day Lemosho Route is widely recognized as one of the most scenic and rewarding trails on Mount Kilimanjaro. Offering breathtaking panoramic vistas from multiple angles of the mountain, it is an exceptional choice for climbers seeking a balance of lower crowd density, incredible scenery, and an exceptionally high summit success rate. It is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers due to its extended acclimatization schedule.
Beginning on the western slopes at Londorossi Gate, the route navigates through lush rainforest up to the magnificent Shira Plateau. From there, it heads east toward Lava Tower, descends into the stunning Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit, and finally summits from Barafu Camp.
What to Expect on Your Climb
After a comfortable 4-hour drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, your journey begins through pristine western forests. As you climb, you will transition through diverse ecological zones—from dense rainforests to alpine meadows and arctic glacial zones. Gradual elevation gains maximize your body's acclimatization capabilities, positioning this group departure for a memorable New Year summit celebration.
