Overview of the 8-Day Lemosho Route Group Trek
The 8-day Lemosho Route is widely considered one of the most scenic and rewarding trails on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas from multiple sides of the mountain. As a top-rated group joining option, it’s a fantastic choice for climbers looking for a balance of lower crowds, stunning varied scenery, and a high summit success rate. This route is exceptionally ideal for beginners and experienced trekkers alike, as the longer duration provides optimal acclimatization.
The Lemosho Route begins on the lush western slopes of Kilimanjaro at Londorossi Gate, crossing through dense rainforest up to the magnificent Shira Plateau over the first two days. The trail continues east toward Lava Tower, drops down into the stunning Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit, and finally targets the midnight push to the summit from Barafu Camp.
