Detailed 2027 Tour Itinerary

Arrival Day: (June 9, 2027) - Airport Transfer to Moshi
You will be welcomed at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and privately transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Afterward, you will meet our lead trekking expert for a comprehensive pre-climb gear check and briefing before resting for the night.

Day 1: (June 10, 2027) - Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Distance: 11 km / 7 miles
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Elevation: 5,380 ft to 9,350 ft
Habitat: Rain Forest
Depart Moshi for the Machame Gate, passing through local villages along the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Following park registration and permit clearance, begin your trek through the dense, lush rainforest trail until you arrive at Machame Camp.

Day 2: (June 11, 2027) - Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Elevation: 9,350 ft to 12,500 ft
Habitat: Heath & Moorland
A shorter but steeper day of climbing. After breakfast, trek uphill past ridges offering stunning views of the plains below and Kibo peak above, alongside Mount Meru in the distance. Notice the vegetation transition into unique high-altitude flora like giant lobelias.

Day 3: (June 12, 2027) - Shira Cave Camp via Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles

Elevation: 12,500 ft to 15,190 ft down to 13,044 ft
Vegetation: Alpine Desert
Traverse the exposed moorland toward the imposing Lava Tower (4,600m / 15,190 ft). This day follows the essential high-altitude acclimatization principle: "walk high, sleep low." After lunch near the tower, descend into the gorgeous Barranco Valley to camp beneath the dramatic Breach Wall.

Day 4: (June 13, 2027) - Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek up the challenging Barranco Wall and across high alpine scree slopes toward Barafu Camp. Arrive by afternoon, enjoy a hot meal, and rest extensively. Conserve energy, stay well-hydrated, and prepare for an early midnight departure for the summit push.

Day 5: (June 14, 2027) - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
Distance: 5 km ascent / 7 km descent (3 miles / 4 miles)
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours (ascent) & 2–4 hours (descent)
Elevation: 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft down to 12,434 ft
Vegetation: Arctic to Heath
Begin your summit attempt around midnight under the stars, climbing steep scree slopes to reach Stella Point (5,739m) on the crater rim just as the sun rises. Continue along the rim to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your triumph, descend back via Stella Point and Barafu Camp for a brief rest, then push further down to Millennium Camp for the night.
